Don’t Succumb To The Boredom!

During the initial days of the panic, people scrambled to rearrange their life, working from home, setting up times to homeschool their kids, and finding a new normal. Now that the dust has settled and many of us are becoming slightly accustomed to the new normal, the boredom is settling in. For many regions of the country, going outside of the home for entrainment is still a dangerous proposition. Which means finding ways to fight boredom is crucial!

Start a Schedule

We don’t just mean setting aside time for lunch or dinner, or to complete your work-from-home assignments for your employers. For you and your family, try to schedule fun activities and events that only happen on certain days of the week. Game Night is on Thursday. Movie Night is Friday. Maybe you bake together on Tuesday? Take long walks every afternoon at 3? Finding times for a little enjoyment can be good for everyone.

Work-Out

Stay active! You can find plenty of work-out routines in YouTube and on streaming services you can do from home, many that don’t require equipment at all. Make time for long walks, or to jog. Running or jogging are low-risk activities, as you are not in close contact with other people, and you have a chance to take in fresh air and get active.

Try Games with Others Over Zoom

If you’re home with your family, or quarantining with friends, you can have a game night. If you’re at home alone, you can use House Party, Zoom, Skype, Google Hangouts and other programs to play games and interact with other people face to face! Well, screen to screen anyway.

Grab a Cup of Coffee

You can still order food for take-out or to go. In fact, right now our dining room is open and if you would feel more comfortable, you can grab a snack and a fun brew on the patio. We serve delicious cold and hot beverages, and have a full breakfast and lunch menu, so we’re here is you need a little break, may a little time away from your home (and the people you’re sharing it with). We want to you to find ways to enjoy yourself while you’re sheltering in place, but we also want you to be safe! Always wear a mask outside of the home, and be sure you wash your hands frequently and avoid touching your face when possible.
