Staying Safe Following Relaxed Restrictions

staying safe wearing masksAcross the country, restrictions are slowly starting to lift. In fact, at our location the dining room and patio are currently open for people to enjoy! However, you may still feel a little nervous about heading out. In today’s blog, we’re offering tips on staying safe while enjoying relaxed restrictions.

Keep Wearing a Mask

While there was a little dispute in the early days of the pandemic, experts now agree that wearing a mask when you go out significantly reduces your risk of contracting or spreading COVID-19. Be sure your mask fits snugly when worn, and avoid touching the front-facing portions that touch your nose and mask. Put it on and remove it by touching only the bands that go around your ears or head. They should cover the nose and mouth and form a slight seal around the covered portions. Kids two and under shouldn’t wear them, and using them doesn’t mean you should halt social distancing norms. When you return home, be sure you wash your mask thoroughly with soap and water!

Maintain Good Social Distancing

A sneeze or cough could send out particles containing the virus, spreading it quickly in a crowd. Which means maintaining a good social distance of six feet at all times is still the best choice. Many restaurants and businesses with indoor areas are limiting their capacity to help ensure good social distancing. When you head outdoors, or visit with friends, just maintain your social distancing to keep everyone safe and sound!

Wash Hands and Use Hand Sanitizer

Before you leave the house and when returning home, be sure you wash your hands for 20 seconds using warm water and soap. Reach every surface, even the back of your hands and the fingertips! While out and about, you can use hand sanitizer after coming into direct contact with frequently touched surfaces. Just make sure your hand sanitizer contains at least 60% alcohol to ensure maximum effectiveness. Washing your hands and using sanitizer is a great way to limit spread and protect yourself and others. Also, make sure you avoid touching your face to protect yourself from the spread. With a few simple changes and precautions to your daily routine, you can go shopping, visiting local businesses, and even see family while protecting your health and safety.
